There are many facts regarding our solar system which are unknown to many of us , so this is to set you on small trip to our solar system that will make you surprise and will give you a thrilling experience.
1. Only Planet On Which Life Is Possible : Earth
Name of Earth should be changed to “Creation Of God” as it is the only planet which full fills all the requirements for life to be possible on it , from water to presence of ozone layer everything that is necessary for human being to grow is present on earth and no other planet provide such environment.
It is known as Blue planet as water is present on 2/3 part of it.
2. “Sun” – The head of family
Sun is located at the center of solar and mainly consist Helium and hydrogen on it. Age of sun is 4.6 billion years and will keep on providing us sunlight till age of 10 billion years .It consist of around 99 percent of total mass of solar system and it can accommodate 13 lakh earth inside it. Nuclear fusion reaction is responsible for energy produced on sun.
3. Number of solar system in milky way Galaxy:-
Most of us are only known to one solar family. but there are about 1000 billion solar system in our Milky way Galaxy.
Solar system consist Sun and 8 major and 5 dwarf planets in the solar system. The eight planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus. The dwarf planets are Ceres, Pluto, make, Haumea and Eris.
4. How does leap year occur :-
Earth rotate in west to east direction in 23 hours 56 minutes 40 seconds.
Earth revolve around sun in an elliptical orbit in 365 days , 5 hours 48 minutes 45 seconds , this time leads to an extra day in every 4 years.
5. Hottest planet :-
Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system , despite of the fact that is Mercury is closer to sun , it is because Venus have 97% of Carbon dioxide in its atmosphere.
6. Brightest planet :-
After sun and moon , Venus is the most brightest planet of solar system as it contain 70% albedo and so known as morning and evening star and can be even seen by naked eye .
7. Nearest star to Earth:-
Sun is considered as nearest star to earth and the nearest star to our solar system is Proxima Centauri with a distance of 4.2 light years.
8. Lightest planet :-
Saturn is considered as lightest planet of solar system . It is about 30 times less dense than earth.
Do you know ?
it density can be understood from the fact that it can even float on water .
9. Biggest planet :-
Jupiter is the biggest plant in solar and it is about 11 times bigger than earth . It can accommodate 1300 earth inside it . It also have the fastest rotation time in solar system i.e. 9.8 hours only.
10. Revolution of sun :-
Most of us are unknown from the fact that sun also revolve around the center of milky way galaxy with a speed of 250 km per second.
11. Highest mountain in solar system :-
Nix Olympia is the highest mountain in our solar system which is three times higher than the mount Everest present on earth.
12. Highest volcano in solar system :-
Olympus Mons is a very large shield volcano on the planet Mars. The volcano has a height of over 21 km which is about two and a half times Mount Everest’s height above sea level. Its diameters around 374 miles.
13. Largest satellite :-
Ganymede satellite of Jupiter , is the largest satellite in solar system and in total there are 79 satellite of Jupiter.
14. Closest Galaxy :-
Andromeda is nearest Galaxy to the milky way Galaxy and it is about 2.537 million light years away from solar system.
15. Straight alignment of all planets :-
As all the planets have different orientation and tilt of their orbits, so it becomes quite rare for the eight major planets of the Solar System to come into perfect alignment. The last time they appeared even in the same part of the sky was over 1,000 years ago, in the year AD 949, and they won’t manage it again until 6 May 2492.
16. Total Number of satellites :-
The solar system have 205 natural satellites with different planets .
Jupiter – 79
Saturn – 82
Uranus – 27
Neptune – 14
Earth – 1
17. Moon :-
It is the only natural satellite of earth and is the most brightest body in solar during night. At present the Moon is moving away from the Earth at a rate of about four centimeters per year, due to the tidal interaction between the Earth and the Moon.
18. Rings around planets :-
There are three planets in our solar which have a ring like structure around them and these are Jupiter , Saturn and Uranus.
Saturn has the most bright rings around it. The rings composed of solid material such as dust and moonlets present around planet
